BABASSU + COCOA BUTTER SHAMPOO BAR

Bought it in April/May last year, and it has been a great experience so far! It was my first time using a shampoo bar, and I think I will keep using shampoo bars over bottled shampoo.

It cleaned my hair well and it was easy to use, as someone who has type 4 hair and washes it all at once.

Definitely recommend!

Advantages: Sustainable and economical (i.e. the bar lasts for months!).

Disadvantages: It can feel quite drying if you do "double" hair washing, although this is great when you have a lot of product built up and it is not a problem if you condition your hair afterwards.

I really like this product. I have been trying to find a natural way to wash my hair and it is easy to use and cleans my hair well

Advantages: Easy to use as a block

Disadvantages: I personally do not find it easy to use when I broke it up into little pieces

I chose the Babassu Shampoo Bar for two reasons, firstly because it’s free from coconut (my hair has a Love-Hate relationship with coconut – it softens and shines my hair in spring and summer, but dries it to hay in autumn and winter).
My second reason for choosing the Babassu Shampoo Bar is because it’s unscented – I have sensitive skin and so I can only use unscented soaps.

Advantages: After rinsing out my DIY egg protein conditioner I applied the Babassu Shampoo Bar to my hair using only two to three swipes with the soap on the back of my hair and... WOW! My hair was immediately covered in super soft suds. I couldn’t believe how quickly the bar produced suds.
My hair felt super soft and moisturised during shampooing and there was absolutely no need for a second cleanse.

After rinsing, my hair was refreshingly clean and felt like silk. My scalp was silent all the way through - no irritation at all.

The Babassu Shampoo Bar is a PERFECT shampoo for anyone with sensitive skin who wants super soft moisturised hair.

I highly recommend it.

Unfortunately after years of loving and using coconut oil in the home-made moisturizers and hair products I use, I became intolerant resulting in red, itchy rashes. So what a joy to find this amazing product as so many contain coconut oil or its derivatives.
I have also found lots of amazing ingredients to substitute in my recipes on this site. My husband has started using it too!


Advantages: Fantastic results on my long, curly, frizz prone hair, great ethics and so convenient for travelling as it can be used as a body cleanser too!
I store mine standing on its edge in the soap dish of the shower to let it dry between uses and I can tell it's going to last for ages!


Disadvantages: None!
